Delegations to the 12th Congress of the UJC depart from Holguín

The delegations from Santiago de Cuba, Guantánamo and Holguín that will attend the 12th Congress of the Union of Young Communists (UJC) to be held in Havana departed on Monday from this eastern Cuban city.


In statements to ACN , Yilian Aldana La O, secretary of the UJC committee at the Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Plant of Felton, expressed her confidence in the meeting which will address the policy carried out in the country regarding children and adolescents.

She also commented on the expectations to develop the opportunities of this population sector.

As representative of the province of Guantánamo, delegate Yanet Torres, stressed the importance of the Congress to define agreements and new opportunities. It is an event where solutions will be proposed to problems that concern us today.

Moments before departure, the Holguín delegation was flagged in the José Martí Park of this city, by Ernesto Santiesteban Velázquez, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and first secretary of the PCC in the province.

The ceremony was also attended by Manuel Hernández Aguilera, governor of Holguín along with other political and government authorities.

The 12th Congress of the UJC, scheduled for April 2 to 4, will celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the organization, which was founded by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, on April 4, 1962. Debates will focus on the responsibility that youth has in the present and future of the new generations.
