The province of Holguin will open this month a branch of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba (Acc), as part of a program carried out by that institution aimed at establishing these groups in certain territories of the country, under the premise that only assuming the scientific method in the daily action will be able to advance and contribute to the universal development.

Regarding the celebration on Sunday of the 60 anniversary of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) in Holguín, its president Julio Méndez Rivero said that despite the impacts of COVID-19, which has led to rethink projects and organizational strategies, the artistic avant-garde in the eastern territory remains firm alongside the Revolution.
