Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on Monday called for the lifting of the economic blockade against Cuba and criticized the "unusual media hype" surrounding the protests on the island.

The Provincial Directorate of Public Health in Holguín today highlighted the need to strengthen the control measures of COVID-19 after the report here of 63 positive cases on Monday, one the highest figure in a day in the eastern territory since the start of the pandemic in Cuba in March 2020.

Cuba currently maintains its will to strengthen ties with its nationals who reside abroad as an irreversible and constantly updated process.
