Holguín athletes to the II Junior Pan American Games

Nine athletes from Holguín will be part of the Cuban delegation for the II Junior Pan American Games, to be held from August 9 to 23 in Asunción, Paraguay.
Holguín's main representative, with a chance of winning medals, is Ana Laura Jiménez a multi-medalist at the San Salvador 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games and a bronze medalist at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile that same year.
The team sports will also include Yamilena Ruiz, a professional volleyball player in Romania, and athletes Javier Noris (javelin) and Kalet Durán (pole vault), both with strong international records.
The delegation is completed by athletes in diving, rowing, taekwondo, and athletics, coming from various municipalities in the province. It also includes Osmani Machado Fiffe, who will lead the fencing team, and the a tennis coach Orleydis Revé Matos.
Additionally, recognized coaches and national technical authorities will be present. Cuba will compete with 230 athletes across 28 disciplines, representing all provinces of the country
