The Inejiro Asanuma Spinning Mill, located in Gibara, keeps its industrial process running through innovation, which is considered essential to maintaining efficiency and coping with limited resources.

According to company specialists, challenges caused by the economic blockade and the high cost of imported inputs have led to the use of science and technology to ensure the factory’s operation and diversify production.

The innovators’ movement has enabled the creation of new workshops without major investments, including mattress manufacturing and the production of plastic items such as cones and containers, thereby expanding productive capacity.

The workforce has also developed its own technology, such as equipment for processing textile waste and a small lead foundry to produce essential parts, especially for the floor blanket production line.

Faced with aging machinery, workers carry out constant repairs and improvements, while also promoting new projects such as the production of hammocks, pillows, and cords, establishing the company as a national benchmark for innovation in Cuba’s textile industry. (Source: ACN)
