Holguín municipality celebrates July 26th

The municipality of Calixto García, located along the Central Highway in the province of Holguín, is an essentially agricultural area known for its social, economic and health development. It was selected as the provincial venue for the July 26th celebration, in recognition of its contributions to regional development.
Renovation works and improvements in infrastructure such as Family Care System dining halls, aqueducts and hospital wards have been carried out, enhancing care for vulnerable groups. Also, the municipality has promoted road paving using innovative techniques to ensure greater traffic safety.
In the agricultural sector, there is a highlight on food diversification through small industries producing preserves and other products, as well as advances with climate-resistant livestock genetics and better application of science in crops and food production.
Leonardo Batista Pupo, first secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, noted that work is also underway to improve medical programs in rural áreas, as well as to maintain zero infant and maternal mortality rates, one of the main achievements of the period.
Buenaventura, as the municipal seat and a key point on the Central Highway, has become a place of gathering and growth, aiming to improve the quality of life for its inhabitants. (Source: ACN)
