Gold and bronze for Taymara Oropesa at Int´l Badminton Tournament

The Holguín badminton player Taymara Oropesa stood out at the I Bicentennial-Sucre International Tournament in Bolivia, winning gold and bronze medals.
The gold medal came in the women’s doubles category, alongside Leyanis Contreras, after beating the Brazilian pair Luisa Bueno Da Rocha and María Julia Da Cruz Nascimento in the final.
In mixed doubles, Taymara and Roberto Carlos Herrera reached the quarterfinals, where they were defeated by a Peruvian pair.
Other Cubans also had good results, such as Roberto Carlos Herrera, who was the runner-up in men’s singles, and the pair Leyanis Contreras with Juan Carlos Bencomo, who won silver in mixed doubles
This tournament, classified as a Future Series event, awarded points for the ranking and qualification for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo.
