A hard work awaits the coaches and the head coach Abeici Pantoja himself, so that the Leñadores de Las Tunas arrive in shape to the Series of the Americas scheduled from the 24th to the 30th of this month, in Nicaragua.

When it was announced that the national champions would represent Cuba in this event, training began to take place at intervals in the last ten days of December, including runs, batting, combination of plays in the infielders.

Although the directors of the baseball team had announced the training sessions behind closed doors at the Julio Antonio Mella stadium with the argument that some dissenting information had been published on social networks, the Cuban News Agency was able to be present at one of them.

As of this date, the training sessions require more rigor with the inclusion, last Monday, of 11 reinforcements from different provinces, in addition to the necessary harmony in the pitching, especially in the combination around the second base with the entry of Yordan Manduley.

The inclusion of seven reinforcement pitchers is very justified, as this has been the most vulnerable area of this team in recent seasons, besides the fact that they will be facing champion teams from the leagues of Nicaragua, Panama, Colombia, Curacao and Argentina.
