Holguín starts preparations for National School Games

The Cuban northeastern province of Holguín started the preparations for the LX National School Games to be held in this city from July 1 to 15, according to details from members of the Organizing Committee of this multi-event, chaired by Rafael Antonio Brown.


In meeting with the sports press, Brown said that work is being done on the conditioning of competition venues such as the Art Center (school and pioneer chess), Ateneo Fernando de Dios (school and youth women's volleyball), the Calixto García stadium (school baseball) and the School Village in the Eide sports school.

The Holguin delegation is made up of 606 members, including 441 athletes from youth games, in 29 sports in the school category.

Technical conferences will be held in all competition venues on June 29 for the events of the first stage of the Games and on July 8 for the second stage of the Games.

In the event, dedicated on this occasion to the legacy of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, Holguín aims to achieve fifth place in the LX National School Games and be one of the best venues, Brown concluded.
