Rower Ana Laura Jiménez won the first silver medal of the Holguín athletes to the Cuban delegation in the Central American and Caribbean Games, San Salvador 2023.
Jiménez, a native of Mayarí, came second in the lightweight Singles Sculls event with a time of 7:54.11 minutes, behind 7:12 seconds from the winner, the Mexican Melissa Márquez (7:46.99).
The 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, officially known as the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Sports Games San Salvador 2023, will be a regional multi-sport event that will take place between June 23 and July 8, 2023 in the capital of El Salvador, San Salvador.
