The young Elizabeth Pupo Góngora, from Wushu, contributed the fourth gold medal of Holguín athletes who participate in the V Alba Games, which take place in three states of Venezuela.

Pupo won the title in the Taolu Deportivo or imaginary combat modality, based at the Gastón Portillo Gymnasium of the Naval Academy in Vargas municipality, Guaira state.

The day before, the cyclists Alejandro Parra and Douglas Parrado made up the Cuban quartet that won third place in the team pursuit. Both athletes have the omnium (Thursday 27) and madinson (Friday 29) tests left.

To date, the province of Holguín has accumulated four first places, one second and two third places, a figure that will increase today when the boxer Jorge Soto (80 kg) disputes the title against the Venezuelan Diego Pereyra and the Cuba softball team, which includes Saray Góngora, will face Venezuela in the final.

Only remaining to compete are triple jumper Andy Hechavarría, on Friday the 28th, and weightlifter Juan Columbié (+102 kg), at the closing day. (Source: Radio Angulo)
