Chinese company creates equipment to detect new SARS-CoV-2 strain

A biotech company from Shenzhen, southern China, announced on Tuesday the creation of an equipment able to detect in only one hour the new strain of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which was discovered in the United Kingdom and it is more infectious.
The BGI Genomics company informed that, during the research, its rapid test device showed accuracy when identifying the variant of this pathogen, which causes Covid-19.
However, for the time being, this company saved it just for investigation purposes, although China already reported the strain in Guangdong, Shanghai and Hong Kong in people that arrived from the UK.
BGI Genomics became one of the main equipment and reagent manufacturers to detect SARS-CoV-2, since its emergence in December 2019 in Wuhan.
Some of its clients are both national and foreign buyers.
