In the municipality of Frak País, there is the brigade “Río Sagua”for the capture of the Elvers, belonging to the Base Business Unit Guatemala of Pescahol Company.

The brigade workers maintain high catching volumes of this freshwater fish.
The Elver is the young fish of the eel, which performs long migrations to reproduce, from the headwaters of the rivers to the sea, for spawning.
The fishing season takes place from September to March.
The average catch is between 10 and 20 kilograms.
The destination is only the export. This young fish has great acceptance in the Asian market. It is marketed live from Cuba and it is collected in containers with appropriate temperature and oxygen included.
