Mexican Singer Armando Manzanero to Perform in Cuba in January 2018

Mexican singer-songwriter Armando Manzanero will offer two concerts in this capital next January, recitals that will take place at the Karl Marx Theater, and in the Plaza San Francisco de Asis, the Cuban Music Institute announced today.
 
During the presentations, scheduled for January 6 and 7, the author of songs as popular as Somos novios, Contigo aprendí and Esta tarde vi llover, will present part of his extensive discography and perform classics from his repertoire.
 
Manzanero, who will perform for the first time on Cuban stages, has written more than 400 songs, some of them covered by renowned artists such as Alejandro Sanz, Luis Miguel, Frank Sinatra, Andrea Bocelli, Elis Regina, and Juan Gabriel.
 
In more than five decades of career, the well-known bolero singer has recorded about 40 albums, set to music numerous films, and obtained important awards and recognitions, including a Latin Grammy and an Award for Musical Excellence, granted by the Latin Recording Academy.
 
The 82-year-old singer will arrive in Havana after publishing his latest album entitled Tengo Permiso, whose songs were composed with the lyrics of his close friend, doctor, and writer José Antonio Ceballos. / PL
