The blockade, genocidal policy anchored in the times of the Cold War, as expressed by Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, began to be rejected today in the General Assembly of the United Nations, gathered in its headquarters in New York.

 

The representative of Egypt, on behalf of the Group of 77 plus China (G77 + China), said that Cuba has contributed for many decades in assisting countries in need in environmental, health and other crises. The support provided by Cuba and its doctors during the crisis caused by the Ebola epidemic that affected the West African countries recently is proof of this, he added.

 

The UN General Assembly discusses today for the 27th consecutive year the resolution project to put an end to U.S. blockade against Cuba, this time under U.S. pressures to hinder the process.

 

The United Nations General Assembly will debate today the Cuban proposed draft resolution entitled “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”.
