In Caracas, Extraordinary Meeting of ALBA-TCP Political Council

The Political Council of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Trade Treaty of Peoples of our America (ALBA-TCP) holds today an extraordinary meeting in this capital, informed the Ministry of Communication and Information of Venezuela.
Until the moment details are unknown on the venue, only the presence of Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza, together with that of his Cuban peer, Bruno Rodriguez.
 
Last December 14 was held in Havana the 15th Political Council of ALBA-TCP, that ended in a gala commemorating the 13th anniversary ofg the foundation of this integration mechanism and a final declaration supporting Venezuela.
 
In the document, read by the Cuban Minister of Foreign Relations, it was highlighted the victory of the Venezuelan people in the most recent poll to elect new mayors of the South American nation, as well as the creation of the Constituent National Assembly.
 
Economic sanctions imposed by the United States, Canada and the European Union, were also condemned, together with other interfering actions of the Organization of American States (OAS).
 
It equally reflected the wish of member countries of the integration mechanism to strengthen the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, while also ratifying the objective that the region be a Zone of Peace.
 
The Political Council of ALBA-TCP also rejected the setback in diplomatic links between Washington and Havana since the assumption by Donald Trump of the U.S. presidency.
 
The ALBA-TCP is made up of Antigua and Barbuda, Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, Nicaragua, St. Lucía, St. Vincent and Grenadines, St. Christopher Nevis. Grenada and Venezuela. / PL
