The Gibara International Film Festival (FICGibara) to be held next August will celebrate twenty years of creation by the late filmmaker Humberto Solás, with the aim of promoting the seventh art from the stages of that coastal city of Holguín province.
The Provincial Art Center of the city of Holguín, in eastern Cuba, today focuses its main actions on the promotion and development of spaces dedicated to disseminate the creations of visual artists.
The cultural project Plaza de la Marqueta, in the historic center of the city of Holguín, welcomed the presentation of the the Yoruba Association of Cuba with three new projects: the book "Los Ritmos de los Tambores Batá Añá"; the “Despertar de Añá” and the audiovisual series of dramatized genre “Nació el Rey”.
Italian filmmaker Walter Uliano Pistelli’s documentary Che Guevara in the 21st Century will have be presented in Havana on June 16 on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the birth of the legendary Argentine-Cuban guerrilla.
