The photographic exhibition "Fidel, Beyond the Myth," opened to the public at the Provincial Center for Plastic Arts in Holguín, presents 100 images that portray key moments in the life of Fidel Castro, the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.
The Héroes del 26 de Julio Mechanical Company (Holmeca), based in Holguín province, guaranteed supplies for the Tabacuba Group in this territory with the aim of increasing the efficiency of its services.
In Holguín, many stories and anecdotes about Fidel Castro are remembered, as he always brought new ideas for the province’s progress during his visits and fulfill many of the requests made by the people gathered in front of the La Periquera Museum, where he addressed the people of this eastern territory for the first time on February 26, 1959.
The Commemorative Program for Fidel's 100th birthday, approved at the 10th Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, will be launched at the Birán Historical Complex on Wednesday, August 13, the day on which the unforgettable leader would have turned 99.
