Customs authorities at Frank Pais International Airport in Holguín seized 121 kilograms of protected marine species this weekend, including hawksbill turtle meat, which a couple was attempting to smuggle to the United States, Armando Rodriguez Batista, Minister of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA by its Spanish acronym), reported on his Facebook profile.
Holguín residents paid homage to the 32 Cuban combatants who died during the U.S. attack on Venezuela, described as treacherous and terrorist. The tribute took place in front of the La Periquera Museum, under the imposing figure of General Calixto García.
The University of Medical Sciences of Holguín will begin the fourth edition of the Master’s Degree Program in Natural Medicine and Comprehensive Patient Care in March, which will run until December of the following year.
The province of Holguín is promoting more than 50 science and innovation projects focused on priority areas for the economic and social development of this eastern region, which hosted the national event for Cuban Science Day.
