The Raúl Camayd hall of the Eddy Suñol Theater in Holguín hosted the political and cultural gala " Te vemos por todas partes” (We See You Everywhere), with which the people of this eastern city paid tribute to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of his physical disappearance.
Holguín mourns the death of soloist and composer William Cordero who died at the age of 81. He was one of the trainers of the new generations of musicians from this eastern territory, both in lyrical theater and popular music.
The 2023 Adelaida del Mármol National Poetry Prize was awarded to the book El miedo de Virgilio (Virgilio's Fear), by Holguín writer Rolando Bellido Aguilera, as part of the activities for the XXIX Ibero-American Culture Festival.
The 18th Ibero-American Congress of Thought, held in thye city of Holguin as part of the Ibero-American Culture Festival, started with the posthumous awarding of the distinction "Casa de Iberoamérica" to Cuban intellectual and revolutionary Armando Hart.
