Dr. Julio Yamel Verdecía Reyes, director of Public Health in the province of Holguín, highlighted the results of the territory in the Maternal and Child Care Program (Pami), with a mortality rate of 3.39 in children under one year of age and zero maternal death, after two years confronting the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cuba maintains the downward trend of Covid-19 cases, an achievement reached by the established hygienic-sanitary measures and the level of immunization of the population with nationally produced vaccines.

While reinforcing border surveillance, Cuba is working on a protocol for the diagnosis and treatment of so-called monkeypox, which already affects nearly 200 people in some 15 nations, confirmed the country's Hygiene and Epidemiology authorities.
