Specialized forces of the forest ranger corps, flora and fauna and the Agroforestry Company are fighting a forest fire in areas of Pinares de Mayari, which started on Sunday in the area of Loma de los Ñames de Guamuta, in the eastern Holguín municipality of Cueto.

Holguin is one of the Cuban provinces benefiting from the new Chinese donation. That will allow another 120 megawatts (MW) of electricity generation through photovoltaic parks to be added this year.

If last year the State's commitment to the environmental sphere included the allocation of more than nine million pesos for the management of Protected Natural Areas, these areas must fully exploit their revenue-generating potential.
