The subsidiary of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets (FCBC) in Holguín hosts the collective exhibition “Nuestra Alicia,” on the day for the centenary of the distinguished dancer.
The exhibit is part of the activities honoring the 300th anniversary of the town of Holguín, celebrated last April 4.

"It is a tribute to our city and the artist’s work toward the defense of our local and national culture," said to the local newspaper ¡ahora! Anette Rodríguez Reyes, a visual arts specialist at the FCBC in the province.
“The call was made in 2019, time before Alicia's death in October. At that time many creators began preparations with the idea of inaugurating the exhibit in April 2020, but it was postponed due to the health crisis caused by COVID-19,” she said.

The exhibit, opened to the public until October 20, includes the use of various techniques such as wood carving, oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas, pen and acrylic on cardboard, among others.
It comprises 14 works that offer a look at the ballet, its rigors, characteristics, specificities and sensitivity, through the image of the consecrated Cuban dancer, who gave prestige to the stages with the elegance of their movements.

"Nuestra Alicia” includes images of the Prima Ballerina Assoluta in the so-called Cuban city of parks, as well as a catalog that collects historical details of the visits and her desire to promote the development of this artistic expression in the territory, together with her husband, the teacher Fernando.
