Holguín University with the largest graduation of the last five-year period

The graduation schedule of the University of Holguín for the 2019-2020 academic year starts today here as the largest graduation carried out since the integration of higher education centers in the province in 2015.
María Antonia Colina Bruzón, general secretary at the institution, told the press that 1,467 students will receive their degrees through the modalities of daytime courses, by meetings and by distance learning.
According to Colina, the main ceremony will take place on the 22nd this month at the José de la Luz y Caballero university branch of Holguín, with the attendance of the best graduates for degrees and categories, who will receive recognition.
Of the new graduates, 22 come from Angola, who graduated in the specialty of Tourism, said Roberto Pérez Almaguer, vice-rector of undergraduate studies, who added that due to the epidemiological situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, adjustments were made to Resolution 49/2020 of the Ministry of Higher Education whereby variants were applied to a group of students in the process of completing the studies.
The rest defended their final evaluation by means of the diploma works or exams, which also include the exercises related to the profession approved for the E study plan.
Despite the affectations caused by Covid-19 in the eastern territory, the University of Holguín graduated 1,467 students, reaching the highest enrollment of graduates in the last five years, after the integration of higher education centers in the province.
