Holguin: Outstanding Participation in Higher Education Congress

There are several visits to the stand of the University of Holguin (UHo) at the 2018 International University Congress taking place in Havana, Cuba, with the participation of more than 2,500 delegates.
The experiences of half a century of Education and Sciences of the House of Higher Studies of Holguin are exposed in this scenario, in charge of a team of specialists from its Direction of Institutional Communication (Dircom), which for this occasion exhibits a different design from the new visual identity of the University.
The stand, officially inaugurated by DrC. Reynaldo Velázquez Zaldivar, rector of the Holguin Institution, only an hour before the opening of the Congress, had received important visits, such as Dr. C. José Ramón Saborido Loidi, Minister of Higher Education in Cuba, who said: "The University of Holguin continues, as always, standing out for its work and becomes a paradigm for other institutions of Cuban Higher Education.”
The training of the professional in Agronomy; evaluation of the impact of extension projects and postgraduate specialties in sustainable development, among other topics, are part of the 36 papers of the Holguin delegation, one of the largest in the country in this eleventh edition of the Congress.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed on Tuesday between the Farmingdale State College, New York and the University of Holguin. In this regard, Dr.C. Lorraine Greenwald, Dean of Education and International Programs of the American institution, expressed her optimism and the mutual benefit of the new alliance, which will not only promote the academic exchange but also the cultural one and will contribute to the rapprochement between both nations.
