The best cigars are sold in El Cuje

Photo: Carlos RafaelThe Casa del Habano El Cuje, opened 17 years ago in Guardalavaca, has well earned the recommendation of the thousands of customers who visit the place every year in search of world-famous Cuban tobacco brands, such as Cohíba, Partagás, Montecristo, Romeo yJulieta and Hoyo de Monterrey.
El Cuje exhibits 27 cigar vitolas, as well as cases, humidors, bags, lighters and other accessories necessary for a cigar smoker, which are offered in these types of specialty stores.
El Cuje, the first of its kind in the eastern region, is distinguished by the small working group that consists of three women, who provide a personalized service and with extensive knowledge of each of the brands of cigars, of which six are marketed worldwide.
"We never say the client this brand is better than that. We explain that a brand is distinguished from the other by its aroma, prices or packaging, but that all are of the highest quality," said Odalys Laffita Castro, at the head of the group.
“For many years, this Caracol store was the only of its type in the eastern region, until the opening of another one in the province of Santiago de Cuba, as part of the activities for the 500th anniversary of the city. Among the more than 100 Cubanacan hotels existing in the country, there are only five stores of this type, including this one established in Villa Turey, today part of the Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca ”, she explained.
Odalys is attending the 22nd Habano Festival taking place in Havana until next 28 of February, with the aim to update knowledge about the production, marketing and art of making Cuban tobacco.
The event, which is attended by delegates from more than 60 countries, will pay tribute to the cigar brands Bolívar, Montecristo and Romeo y Julieta.
