Holguin to host Expociencia 2020 event

The 12th Edition of Expociencia Holguin-2020 will take place in this eastern city from February 26 to 28, sponsored by the Territorial Delegation of Citma and with the participation of professionals from all Cuba.
With headquarters at the Expo-Holguin Fairgrounds, the agenda includes several scientific actions, such as workshops and keynote conferences, master thesis defense, exchange of experiences and visits to institutions of the health system and Higher Education.
Rene Rubio Hernandez, Communication Specialist of the Territorial Delegation of Citma, said that the meeting will also promote debate on topics related to nanotechnology, dengue and other arboviruses of medical importance, renewable sources and the current demographic situation in Cuba.
Workshops on exportable funds and potentialities in the province of Holguin, the confrontation with climate change and the food production using science, in addition to the thesis defense and visits to centers of scientific and social interest, are among the activities to be developed during the second day of the event.
Organizers conceived a varied program with social gatherings, keynote lectures with themes related to the thought and work of Jose Marti, the legacy of the indigenous peoples originating in the identity of Latin America and the Caribbean, the electronic government in Cuba and the awards delivery to participating entities, the prize for creativity and innovation and the provincial award for Information Sciences.
