Digital platform to “chain” Cuban business system available in Holguin

The creation of a Business Catalog, available for all of Cuba and already acquired by several clients, responds to the call of President Miguel Diaz-Canel to strengthen the Company's Computerization Program and put it in function of the development of vital processes for the economy.
It is a digital platform where each company has its own website, in which it promotes products and services, revealing the potential based on internal demands, exports and import substitution, said engineer Felix Moreno Casanova, director of the Holguin Territorial Division of the Xetid Company.
«It guarantees that all entities coexist in a single url (companies.xutil.cu) and can maintain communication between them. It is prepared to be a virtual fair 24 hours, with access from anywhere », explained the specialist.
According to Computer Science Engineer Raimundo Acosta Medina, head of the Computerization and Training Center of the Division, it operates as a Bank of Needs, because each company presents what it requires. It is what today is known worldwide as Market Play or Digital Market Square.
«It also constitutes an employment exchange, as job offers can be made. It also provides online positioning of companies ».
The Business Catalog has an "Online Assistance Chat" that allows people connect with the other party and receive answers in real time.
Regarding the publication of documents, Acosta added that it provides access to information related to job offers and hiring. «In this regard it is very useful. You can print the required models, fill them out and present them to the part with which you intend to establish business relationships ».
As for the Portfolio of Products and Services, in addition to conducting a global search of all companies, it is possible to export everything found. It means that you can take it in printed format if you wish, to consult it when you are not online, he added.
«Companies are in a position to publish all links to other systems. At the same time we offer them the possibility of sponsored links, that is, they hire them with us and they will have permanent visibility on the website ».
When concluding the contract, the customer is only a consumer of the system, because Xetid is in charge of its hosting and development. This is what is called «Software as a Service», explained Leonardo Rojas Rodriguez, a young engineer at the entity. «The interested party has the possibility of accessing the Business Catalog without contacting us. It can do it for a month, on trial, and then the website is automatically disabled. It will resume if it decides to establish business relationships with our entity. If the business request is made within a period of two months, it does not lose the information stored during the test time ».
The price to pay for the use of the system is not expensive. Xetid charges 843 pesos in national currency per month and if there’s a training request, it provides it.
Many companies have brought institutional information, including issues such as the corporate purpose, mission and vision, to the social networks, mainly Twitter and Facebook. But very few people in Cuba look for business profiles there, explained Rojas.
It can be said that the Catalog promotes a social network between companies to give visibility to everything that is done in the Cuban territory.
