To boost foreign trade, foreign investment and international economic collaboration, it is essential to facilitate processes, know in depth the territorial demands and potentials and achieve balance between the entities and factors involved in that area, among other aspects.
During an analysis of the work carried out in that area during 2019, when although the province of Holguin managed to increase to 40 the exportable items and 74 products in terms of import substitution, it is not yet sufficient nor measures up to the natural and human resources existing in the territory.
According to Leonardo Bruzon Reynaldo, at the head of the Department of Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and International Economic Collaboration in Holguin, among the main obstacles that limit the progress, consolidation and creation of new exportable items it highlights the unintentionality of the work of some entities to take advantage of their potential, lack of infrastructure and equipment and not conceive of training as an ally for the processes that lead to promote products and services out of borders.
Despite these deficiencies in 2019, 38 of the 40 exportable funds were consolidated, including coffee, charcoal, tench, live angula, zeolite, plows, sugar, honey bee benefited, crooked tobacco, electrical plastic pipe, nickel sulfate, steel, aluminum, bronze, copper, electronic scrap and ceramic products; paper, natural fibers, plastic arts, handicrafts and wood, among others; while boosting the production of spicy peppers and citrus fruits (sour orange and persian lime).
