Cuban Minister checks tourism investment in Holguin

Holguin has the conditions to be at the forefront in the construction of hotels for Tourism, but in order to achieve this objective, it must meet the planned execution schedules, achieve a logical sequence in the progress of the works and organizations linked to the activity, and comply efficiently with its responsibility.
The Cuban Minister of Tourism called to work according to the schedules conceived for each work.
The Holguin tourist industry has the bulk of the largest constructions in Gibara, the capital city and Guardalavaca, where the construction of the Hotel Selection Almirante closed January with more than 87 percent of physical advance while is planned the completion of 286 rooms of the 515 planned for this facility of 5 Stars category, belonging to the Iberostar Chain.
In Gibara, the Cubanacan investment plan includes the expansion of capacities in the hotel Bahia del Almirante, the construction of the Murcielaguina, the first 5 Stars of this destination, the Vallado and Puerta Muralla and El Cuartelon, where there are currently the ruins of fortifications built by the Spaniards.
The investment plan for Guardalavaca includes the construction of other hotel facilities, such as the Eco Resort 5 Stars category, with 330 rooms, of the Cuban mixed company Cubanablau S.A; in addition to the tourist development of this area, the Palmares extra-hotel will be joined with a multipurpose Recreational Center; Caracol stores and the Transtur transport company, among other entities.
In the same way, it is necessary to be more professional at times when the US government is strenghthening the blockade, which makes difficult the purchase of resources and their arrival to the country.

This was assessed by the Cuban Minister of Tourism (Mintur), Juan Carlos Garcia Granda, when checking the main investments underway in the province, where several facilities face delays in the entry of imported equipment and materials and deficit of skilled labor force.

In the provincial capital, efforts are focused on the completion of the Saratoga hotel and the swimming pool of the Pernik hotel, which is undergoing major repairs. Once completed it will have all the requirements of international standards and new values aggregates, such as barbecue, private room and comfortable bathrooms.
