Year of preparation for defense begins in Holguín

Protected in the unity of the people and with the commitment to give continuity to the Cuban revolutionary process, the year of preparation for the 2020 defense began in the units of the Military Region and Holguín province.
In military ceremony carried out in one of the polygons of the Region, officers, non-commissioned officers, sergeants, sailors, students, militiamen and civil workers reaffirmed their commitment with the defense of the Socialist Homeland, the greatest honor and supreme citizen duty, as stated in article 4 of the Constitution of the Republic of Cuba.
Brigadier General Roberto Reyes La O, head of the Holguín Military Region, referred to the positive results achieved in the previous year and pointed out the objectives for the present stage, focused on continuing to consolidate the strategic conception of All People's War and maintain military invulnerability of the territory.
He stressed the need to deepen the political-ideological work, which allows increasing the revolutionary vigilance and thus preserving the resources of the State. He also noted the importance of increasing preparedness for defense and combative disposition, as the world stage becomes increasingly complex in the face of threats and plans directed by imperialism, to succumb to Latin American peoples.
Captain Adrián Coreaux Morillo, delegate to the XI Congress of the Young Communist League (UJC), expressed the unavoidable commitment of his contemporaries, to fulfill the purposes of the stage with responsibility and demonstrate it in polygons, classrooms, the theater of operations or daily compliance with attributions and obligations.
