The Holguín localities where the 7.1 earthquake was felt on Tuesday do not report damage and remain calm after more than 24 hours of the telluric movement, which was perceptible all across the country.
The earthquake, with lasted about 15 seconds, was perceptible in the Holguín municipalities of Moa, Frank País, Mayarí and Cueto, as well as in Báguanos, Calixto García, Cacocum and Rafael Freyre, reported Juan Miguel Morán, vice president of the Board of Directors, at this level.
Morán confirmed that there are no reports of major damages, just some cracks in homes and service delivery centers in specific areas in the town of San Germán, municipality of Urbano Noris and Cueto, located in the south of the province.
He pointed out that in this eastern territory, with more than one million inhabitants, conditions have been created to guarantee an effective response to the occurrence of an event of this nature.
On the other hand, Noas Jorge, specialist of the National Center of Seismological Investigations of Cuba (Cenais) in this city, informed that until Wednesday noon more than 270 aftershocks had occurred, a normal situation for these cases.

He added that there is permanent surveillance of seismic activity in the area by the competent entities of the country.
According to Cenais data, the earthquake had a depth of 20.7 kilometers and is the second perceptible in Cuba so far this year.
