The Holguín-Las Tunas Delegation of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba (CCRC) analyzed the effectiveness of its management during 2019, in the Assembly of Associate Members that took place on November 27, at the ExpoHolguín fairgrounds of this city.

According to Hilda Rosa Santiesteban López, director of this institution, the results were positive in terms of staff training, fair activity and dissemination of information.

She highlighted among the main activities the First Workshop of the Socialist State Enterprise, the Global Standard General Conference (GS1), the Producer Familiarization course and the workshop on the promotion of exportable items.

She also presented the projects of both provinces that are included in the Foreign Investment Opportunities Portfolio 2019-2020, and noted that the largest number in the eastern region of the country corresponds to Holguín businessmen.

These include those related to food production, construction and commercialization of new hotel capacities, urban solid waste management, geological researches of base and precious metals.

Santiesteban added that membership has reached a figure never before achieved, 50 entities. Of these, only 8 belong to Las Tunas, hence the incorporation of entities from that territory constitutes one of the work projections for 2020.

The meeting served to recognize the companies that participated in the Havana International Fair 2019 and the 16th ExpoCaribe International Fair, the most important events in the field of trade and investments in Cuba.

Among these companies were the Provincial Company of Various Local Industries of Holguín (Avil) and Las Tunas (Vascal); Port of Moa; Provincial Security and Protection Company (Sepro) and Engineering Construction Company No.16 (Castor).

The Assembly of Associate Members was chaired by Rubén Ramos Arrieta, vice president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba; María Luisa Oñate, Delegate of the Ministry of Foreign Trade in the province and authorities of the Government and the Communist Party of Cuba in the territory.
