The MsC Miriam Egea Álvarez, national director of History and Marxism-Leninism of the Ministry of Education, said that it is about achieving better results in the educational process in the classroom, which requires continuing to study and systematize everything what from the Social Sciences and especially History, can contribute to the content and methods.

She referred to the correct and intentional use of audiovisual media and information technologies, since our children and young people are consumers of audiovisual products.

"We have to achieve greater sensitivity, knowledge and reasoning to make the student be enthusiastic about the History of Cuba, in order to contribute to their formation as citizens committed to their country and time, consistent with Cuban history, culture and identity in relation to the world and able to interpret what happens in these contexts,”she added.

Egea pointed out the need to continue studying the figure of Fidel and the great challenge of how to keep alive, among the new generations, his image, thought and experiences expressed in social progress, solidarity and dedication to the nation and the world.
She also addressed the treatment to the figure of Martí from the link with the Martí ‘s cathedra and the use of complementary spaces in the life schedule of schools to work on local history in a consistent manner.

On the first day of the event, a collaboration agreement was signed between Provincial Education and the National Union of Historians of Cuba in Holguín, represented by their top executives Luis Felipe Batista Rodríguez and Hiram Pérez Concepción, respectively.
