More than one thousand 50 clients with vacation package with tour operator (TT OO) Thomas Cook visiting the Holguin tourist destination began to leave for England, after the bankruptcy of that European travel company.
The first group of 275 tourists left the Frank Pais international airport of Holguin on Tuesday night, while the rest will travel on three other flights scheduled until next October 3.
In an official announcement, Eddy Santos Gonzalez, delegate of the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) in the eastern province, said that this operation has been very well prepared and has all the guarantees to achieve the return of vacationers to London.
Visitors are staying in the hotels Brisas Guardalavaca, Fiesta Americana, Iberostar Holguin, Costa Verde Beach, Pesquero Beach, Paradisus Rio de Oro and Sol Rio de Luna y Mares, where they are accompanied by officials of the English TTOO and Cuban travel agencies, as well as public relations personnel of the different hotes, where they had arrived a few days before to enjoy the sun and the beaches in the area.
Santos Gonzalez explained that all vacationers were informed about the situation faced by their TTOO and the departure schedule of the hotels to return to the United Kingdom.
On Monday, September 23, Thomas Cook announced that he should undergo a mandatory liquidation, which affected some 600,000 tourists in 17 countries. This English airline was flying to the main tourist destinations in the world.
