The Cuban Workers Federation (CTC) in Holguin are holding meetings to implement actions that contribute to the confrontation of the Aedes Aegypti mosquito’s proliferation, which presence is reported in all health areas of the head city.
George Batista Perez, general secretary of the workers' organization in the province, explained that meetings aim at raising awareness among workers about the complex epidemiological situation that the territory is facing with the presence of the mosquito in Holguin, the second region with the greatest infestation in the country.
The structuring of brigades for the systematic realization of the autofocal, the realization of sanitation works, the incidence in those who have febrile symptoms and the diseases infected by the Aedes, are among the actions.
The Holguin working class also works to optimize resources in the face of the energy situation in the country as a result of the worsening of the U.S. blockade against the island. In all state entities, with emphasis on the high energy consumer groups, activity levels are reduced during times of greatest demand.
Thinking as a country, maximizing efficiency, providing information and guidance to workers and adding efforts towards saving, both in the workplace and at home, is the call of the worker organization to each of its members in the state and private sectors in Holguin.
