Regional Workshop University-Company Held in Holguín

Alicia Alonso Becerra, vice minister of Higher Education (left), along with Isabel Cristina Torres, rector of the University of Holguín.Strengthening the integration of universities to the economic and social development of the country, as one of the main tasks of Higher Education in Cuba, was the topic for debate during the Regional Workshop University-Company held at the Celia Sánchez Manduley branch of the University of Holguín.
Executives and academics from seven eastern universities and other guests presented their ideas and exchanged experiences on what is done in their respective centers in order to contribute to the development of the country from the incidence in the strategic sectors according to the planning of the 2030 Agenda.

Photos: Luis Ernesto RuizAlicia Alonso Becerra, Vice Minister of Higher Education, described the meeting as productive, in which indicators, criteria of measures and goals were discussed to evaluate the university-company link in order to advance and achieve greater contributions to the Caribbean country.
In particular, participants addressed the issues that emerged in each of the government visits led by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, president of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, regarding the use of scientific, technological , research and innovative potentialities of the Center of High Studies to transform the economic and social life of the provinces.
They also discussed about the technological science parks, a project being carried out in some Cuban provinces, with a view to responding to the needs and giving answers to the fundamental problems of the entities in the territory.
It is about looking for different ways that promote the materialization in practice of the university-company link, which is important for the economic and social development of the country.
