The potential of two of the Holguín main industries to export and import substitution was recognized by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, president of the Councils of State and Ministers, during a tour of the Sugarcane Harvesting Machines Factory LX Aniversario de la Revolución de Octubre and the Factory for Agricultural Equipments 26 de Julio.
Miguel Diaz-Canel, who heads his second visit to this northeastern territory with the Council of Ministers, highlighted the training of workers with the ability to increase their production and possibilities to be oriented towards foreign investment.
In meeting with executives of that industry inaugurated by Fidel, he knew about the productive results of the first quarter of this year and the projections of the sugarcane harvester CCA-5500, while he showed special interest about the salary earned by the group of about 460 workers.
In the workshops of the "26 de Julio" factory, the Cuban President exchanged with workers to whom he explained the purpose of that visit to both industries of the province, as their productions contribute to the development of agricultural work, mainly.
Díaz-Canel, accompanied by the highest authorities of the territory also visited the UEB of Frutas Selectas where he appreciated the work of the 117 workers who drive the production of juices, vegetables, sweet fruit preserves and pulps, from the agreement of that the entity with 57 productive forms.
Here, the President was informed that this industry will have the necessary financing for the completion of the freezing tunnel, which, once completed, will increase the cold storage capacity to up to 40 tons and be able to export frozen cassava.
It is also planned the construction of a shed for the storing of agricultural products to comply with the forward program.
Díaz-Canel also toured other places of socioeconomic interest in the province.
