Computerization of Society Advances in Holguin

The Scientific and Technological Park of Holguín will incorporate all the benefits that the computerization of society provides.Computerization is equivalent to development, humanization of work, simplification of processes, hence the computerization of society is a strategic program in Cuba, within which Holguin aspires to rank among the first provinces to achieve this purpose.
Julio Cesar Estupiñan, president of the Provincial Assembly of the People's Power in the territory, checked the progress of the actions that for this purpose must complete 27 agreements, 20 fulfilled until April.
The program includes the creation of websites, access to the internet for workers and managers, as well as their training in the use of information and communication technologies, create communication strategies and enable the presence of the greatest number of teaching centers in the social networks, among other actions.
Estupiñan demanded agility and responsibility in the responses to the population's proposals through the website Portal del Ciudadano (Citizen Portal) and recommended the search for alternatives that contribute to the use of electronic commerce as it makes easier the people's lives.
In this regard, Agustin Chiong, director of the Control Office of the Ministry of Communications in Holguin, referred that only 5.6 percent of the owners of magnetic cards in the territory use the mobile transfer service offered by Banco de Crédito y Comercio (Bandec) and the Banco Popular de Ahorro (BPA).
The president of the Provincial Assembly was also interested in the digitalization of the National Bus Terminal and the Eddy Suñol Theater, both foresee to incorporate electronic commerce. It was announced that before the end of the first semester of this year, four municipalities will have their Citizen Portal.
