primero de mayo hg preambulIt is May Day, again the steps on the square that retell the history of 39 worker marches. Again the firm steps that shake the earth as a definitive expression of unity around the Revolution and that ratify the decision to continue being protagonists of decisive battles, especially in the economic field and the defense of the Homeland.

It's International Workers' Day. We are joined by motivations that can not be postponed, such as demanding respect for the rights to walk by our own steps, to think and decide for ourselves, to open ourselves to the world without interventionist restrictions, to be returned the piece of land stolen in Guantánamo, to fight for the freedom of a brother of just ideals and the sovereignty of the aggrieved Venezuela.

It is the World Proletariat Day and although the foundational reason remains, namely, paying tribute to the Chicago workers killed on 1st May 1886, peasants, students, doctors, teachers, fighters, artists, builders ... we all celebrate our conquests as free workers, as an independent people, that is why we also enjoy, dance and sing choruses like the one that talks about bullets and songs and ensures that no one surrenders here ...

It is May Day, once again the square is embellished, we see again hundreds of posters, flags, banners that express commitments, goals, that ratify ideals, that bring us closer the images of men and women who did not die because they performed well the work of life and that inspire us.

It's International Workers' Day. From the mausoleum that honors the memory of the Holguin general of three wars, voices, thousands of voices endorse the central motto of the celebration: Unity, Commitment and Victory. Others are heard, like that incentive for the children of this land: The more Holguineros, the more we can do.

It is the World Proletariat Day and all of Holguin is an ode to the workers' struggles in any part of the world.
