George Batista Perez, general secretary of the Cuban Workers' Federation (CTC) in the province of Holguin called on the working class of the eastern territory for the celebration of the International Workers' Day, on May 1st, in meeting held here with authorities from the territory.
The parade must be a decisive expression of support for the unity of the working class around the Cuban Revolution, its historical leaders and its continuity, for the end of the United States Blockade against Cuba and the return of the illegally occupied territory in Guantanamo, as well as demonstration of support for the struggles of peoples around the world, added Batista Perez.
Ernesto Santiesteban Velazquez, first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Holguin, said that before the times the country is living, when US imperialism increases its threats and destabilizing actions against the island and Latin America, it requires a resounding response from the working family of Holguin that must not be other than the massive, organized and victorious mobilization.
Santiesteban Velazquez called to carry out activities for the Day aimed at supporting the sugar cane harvest, the production of food and the battle against the elimination of the mosquito Aedes Aegypti.
The celebrations for May 1st begin on April 12 in the Altuna community of El Progreso, "Rafael Freyre", and conclude on the 28th of the same month with the marches in El Ramon de Antilla y Dagame, in "Rafael Freyre".
