Photo: ACNWorkers of the electricity sector in the province of Holguin received a deserved tribute for the constancy and uninterrupted dedication to such an important task, as part of the activities for the celebration of the Electricity Workers' Day, January 14. Héctor Lugo, director of the Electric Company in the province, ratified their commitment of Marti and Fidel legacy, and assured that workers of this organization will continue to work with perseverance and discipline.
He urged them to consolidate each result, and stressed that the key to overcoming current and future challenges lies in the unity and creativity of daily work.
Likewise, about 20 workers were awarded the Ñico López Medal for their permanence and contribution to the sector for 20 and 25 years, a distinction granted each year by the Cuban Workers Federation.
Holguín is the province with the largest installed generation capacity in Cuba, whose program of renewable sources of energy was consolidated in 2017 from the creation of new solar and wind farms that take advantage of natural reserves offered by the sun and wind among other resources .
