Holguín’s Telecommunications Company Improves its Services

The Cuban Telecommunications Company (Etecsa) in the province of Holguín ranks among the first in the country with outstanding results in the fulfillment the service, investment, quality and income indicators.
 
According to the information provided by Arnolis Reyes, territorial director of Etecsa, this is the Cuban company that most contributes to the gross domestic product of the island and in the case of the Holguín’s branch, it highlights the contribution of one percent for local development.

According to the report of its annual management, 2018 was the best year in terms of investments, for which the assembly of the infrastructure for the Internet service from the mobile was decisive.

This is also the territory with the largest number of radio bases installed after Havana.

The total telephone density now stands at 45.28; the highest incidence is mobile telephony with 37.49 devices per 100 inhabitants. Last year 21, 045 lines were activated more than those planned to reach the considerable figure of 71,490 services activated in a year.

By the end of December 313,700 Holguín residents had permanent accounts, another 5,733 have home nauta service.
There are 106 Wi-Fi areas and 47 navigation rooms scattered throughout the local geography, while 22 requests for connectivity for new services and speed increase for state entities were attended.

Among the 2019 projections, the company plans to continue expanding 3G (third generation) service to ensure greater traffic capacity, as well as reach more territories and ensure that companies deliver on time the real telecommunications demand until 2023 that favors the sustained progress in the computerization of society.
