With the arrival this Monday of the Airbus A330-200 of the Canadian airline Air Transat to the Frank País International Airport of Holguín, that company advances its operations of the high season towards this province of the Cuban east, to increase its weekly flights to 10 as of December 23.
After one o'clock in the afternoon the aircraft landed on the Holguín terminal with 328 passengers on board, so Transat reaffirmed itself as one of the main Canadian tour operators in the third important tourist destination of Cuba.

Maikel Robelt Futiel, Commercial Specialist of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) in the province, said that Canada is generally the main tourists issuer to the northeastern territory, with more than 40 percent, followed by the United Kingdom with 12 percent.
He particularly referred to the Russian market, positioned in the third place after a year of inaugurating the air route between Moscow and Holguín with the NordwindAirlines and the tour operator Pegas Touristik.

He said that every 10 days the Russian aircraft arrives to the Holguín terminal with about 490 customers on average and it is expected to maintain this operation started on December 25, 2017, when on the first charter flight 312 passengers arrived at the main hotels of the Cubanacán Group in the spa of Guardalavaca.
The Frank País international airport receives on average more than 50 flights from different countries each week, but in the high season it is expected to exceed 70, mainly from Canada.
