The emblematic Villa Don Lino, a tourist facility belonging to the Islazul Hotel Group, celebrates its 35th anniversary on December 6th, with better conditions for the clients after the implementation of a major investment process to increase the lodging capacity.

Located about 30 kilometers from Guardalavaca beach, this was the first destination for international tourism opened in the municipality of Rafael Freyre, where the most important hotels of Holguín destination are now located, among them the Paradisus Río de Oro Resort & SPA of Meliá and the recently opened Iberostar Holguín, the only five-star Selection category of that Spanish group on the northeastern coast.

The story shows that the construction of Villa Don Lino began in 1983 with the construction of just a few rooms of stones collected from the coast, wood and tiles to reach a total of 36 rooms, on a plot of land that belonged to the former owners of the “Santa Lucia” sugar mil, where was the resting area of the family of Mr. Lino, as the facility is named.

In the decade of the 90s, the center underwent a capital remodeling in which the first cabins were almost eliminated and new ones were built farther away from the beach, as well as the restaurant and other facilites, an ongoing investment process, as the objective is to reach 180 rooms.

The two stars category Villa Don Lino currently has 128 lodging capacities, of which 44 are standard and the remaining ones bungalow, with all-inclusive service, specialized restaurant, buffet, two bars, swimming pool, bicycle services and horseback riding, daytime and evening entertainment.

María Elena Rodríguez Blanco, Commercial Specialist of the Islazul Group, explained that the prices of lodging in the Villa, from December 1, foresee the entry of two children free of charge; whereas the price of the night in the double rooms is of 70,00 cuc and the simple ones of 40,00; while bungalows costs 80 and 57, respectively.
