His Excellency Mr. Bader Abdullah Saeed Bin Saeed Al Matrooshi, ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in Cuba, had an exchange with students and professors of the University of Holguin, as part of his visit to this eastern Cuban province.
During the meeting, he knew about the advances in research and agreements that the University currently has with counterparts in countries around the world, mainly in Latin America and Europe, as well as the intentions of exchange with American centers and the Asian region.
Al Matrooshi received details of the faculty of the UHO, composed in more than 80 percent of doctors, masters and specialists, which shows its high scientific quality, expressed in the various research projects and constant pre and post graduate training.
The head of the Emirati mission in Cuba, shared socio-cultural and traditional elements of his nation, distinguished in the Arabian Gulf region for its remarkable socioeconomic development. He also discussed the characteristics and advances experienced in the education sector.
During his stay at the University of Holguin, he learned about possible areas in which there could be bilateral cooperation related to pedagogical training, student exchange, Spanish and English language teaching, studies on renewable energies and tourism.
The United Arab Emirates, composed of seven emirates: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al-Qaywayn, established diplomatic relations with Cuba on March 18, 2002.
Located southeast of the Arabian Peninsula , it extends from the Qatar peninsula to the Strait of Hormuz, bounded on the north by Qatar and the Persian Gulf, on the east by the Gulf of Oman and on the south and west by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
His Excellency Mr. Bader Al Matrooshi will also visit the Historical Complex of Birán, the birthplace of Fidel and Raúl; the wind farms of Gibara, and several sites of historical and cultural relevance of the city.
In his visit, he held a meeting with government authorities of the territory, where he received information about the socio-economic and political activity of the third most populated province of the country, its main development prospects in strategic sectors such as tourism and renewable energy, which showed marked interest.
