Maintenance work continues at Felton Thermoelectric Plant

Maintenance on Unit 1 of the Lidio Ramón Pérez Thermoelectric Plant in Felton is progressing as planned, following the identification and sealing of a crack in a generator coil that caused a hydrogen leak.
Engineer Eric Milanés Quinzán, general director of the plant located in Felton, in the Holguín municipality of Mayarí, said that the tasks are being carried out according to the planned schedule.
The cleaning the convective shaft of the boiler, cleaning the steam condenser, repairing the high-pressure heater one, and servicing pumps and auxiliary equipment, are among the work performed so far at the Felton Thermoelectric Plant.
Also notable are the removal of burned fuel waste from the boiler and the cleaning of the hopper, carried out by the Engineering Works Construction Company number 3 (ECI 3). Specialists from the Electric Power Plants Maintenance Company (EMCE), plant personnel, and support brigades from the Union of Nickel Services Company in Nicaro (ESUNI) are also participating.
The maintenance, with an estimated duration of 20 days, aims to restore unit one's generation capacity to more than 230 megawatts, significantly strengthening the electrical system.
