Birán prepares to celebrate Fidel Castro's birthday

Maintenance work is being carried out at the historic Birán site ahead of August 13, when the 99th anniversary of Fidel Castro's birth will be celebrated.
Alietty Castro Medina, director of the facility, said that the local community actively participates in the commemorative activities, and the repairs include general rehabilitation of wooden constructions, the huts of Haitian immigrant workers, the first workforce serving the farm; the rooster fence, perimeter fences, as well as the façade of the second family home, all with the goal of making a lasting impact on the surrounding area.
Yaliel Cobo Calvo, a member of the National Bureau of the Union of Young Communists, reported that International Youth Day will be celebrated at this site on the 12th, with a series of productive and socially impactful activities that will also be carried out in all provinces.
"On the eve of the Comandante's birthday and the day that will mark the beginning of the actions for his centennial in 2026, a group of 250 young people from different regions of Cuba will camp in Birán, and we will also be participating in the activities that Holguín has prepared for the date," he concluded.
