KTP projects support rail infrastructure in Holguín

Several projects carried out by the 60th Anniversary of the October Revolution Sugarcane Harvester Factory (KTP) in Holguín, benefit the territory’s railway infrastructure.
The projects aims at improving logistical support for passenger and freight transport, especially in hard-to-reach áreas.
Key actions include the repair of 11 railway wagons of 60 tons capacity to transport family basket goods, replacing approximately 180 truck trips, resulting in a saving of about 180,000 liters of fuel and enabling faster and more efficient distribution of resources.
Equipment such as small railcars for rural communities has also been repaired, along with the construction of stops and turnouts essential for train maneuvering in difficult areas.
Cordovés Toirac also highlighted the restoration of a railcar, which will be returned to the tracks as part of the strengthening of rail transport.
In adition, a railcar engine has been restored and will be reintegrated into service to strengthen rail transportation.
