In Holguín, young people honor Raul Castro on his 94th birthday

Young people from various schools, universities, political and student organizations and the Revolutionary Armed Forces in Holguín, on June 3 celebrated the 94th birthday of Army General Raul Castro Ruz, the youngest of Ángel Castro and Lina Ruz's children.

In the event that took place at the Museum of the Eastern Army General Staff, founded by Raul 64 years ago and which he called “Mr. Army”, the participants honored his legacy and significance to the Cuban socialist project, its continuity in the face of adversities and the military invulnerability of the country.

Accompanied by Joel Queipo Ruiz, first secretary of the Party in Holguín, leaders of the Government and of the UJC in the province, and chiefs and officers of the Eastern Army and of the Holguín Military Region, highlighted Raul Castro role in the Cuban Revolution, his loyalty to Fidel Castro and his deep love for his wife Vilma.

Creator and founder of the Second Eastern Front, he stood out for his ability to lead and take on the responsibilities of First Secretary of the Party after the illness of Commander in Chief Fidel, his leadership in restoring diplomatic relations with the United States and to continue the struggle for the return of the Five Heroes to the Homeland.

Participants highlighted not only the value of the military strategist, politician, and man of action of royal character but also his simplicity, discipline and modesty.
